Many players already know plenty of scales and licks. The challenge is learning how to organize those ideas into a solo that sounds musical and engaging.
In this masterclass, we’ll explore how changing rhythmic density can transform your improvisation. You’ll learn how to use half-time, regular-time, and double-time phrasing to create contrast, shape longer musical ideas, build intensity, and keep your solos engaging. Through practical demonstrations and musical examples, you’ll learn how changes in time feel can create momentum, tension and release, and a stronger sense of direction in your improvisation.
Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced player, this session will give you a practical framework for making your solos sound more musical, dynamic, and expressive without needing to learn more scales or memorize more licks.

Meet Your Instructor
Predrag Simovic is a jazz guitarist, educator, and performer with more than 25 years of teaching and performing experience. A former instructor at Berklee College of Music, he studied with legendary jazz guitarist Mick Goodrick and has worked with many respected musicians and educators throughout his career.
Predrag has performed thousands of concerts in a wide variety of settings, from jazz clubs and festivals to theaters and international cruise ship productions. He has appeared twice at the Nisville Jazz Festival, including performances with his own Pedjazz Quartet, and has performed for audiences ranging from intimate jazz venues to large outdoor events attended by thousands. In addition to his live performance work, he has collaborated on recording projects with musicians in both Serbia and the United States.
As both a performer and educator, Predrag is passionate about helping guitarists develop stronger improvisation skills, a deeper understanding of jazz harmony, and a more practical approach to learning jazz guitar.
