Join us for the third in a 3 part series covering Guitar Modes with guest instructor Niko Malinowski.

Niko Malinowski is a guitarist and composer from Boston, MA. Niko has performed regularly in Boston and New York City, and has toured Eastern Canada. In addition to being a bandleader, he also plays guitar as a sideman for a variety of artists, such as Kayla Silverman and Connie May. He currently studies Performance at Berklee College of Music as a full-tuition scholar and is a part of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.

Niko will help unravel the mystery of guitar modes, with an emphasis on the major scale modes of Dorian, Mixolydian etc..

• Understanding the modal choices of artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
• Analysing a few lines/solo excerpts from notable players who used modes
